Overall 7.5/10 The hotel feels nice and new. Lots of food options and different bars to choose from. Food and drinks are honestly a 7/10, better than what i expected but on par with other hotels. The staff was friendly and helpful, but I speak spanish, it's hard if you don't speak spanish. The room was cleaned and stocked with drinks daily. They also had shows every night. Now to the bad. Our air conditioner had a problem, it randomly had an error code F2, the only way to fix it is resetting the air conditioner electrical breakers. The first day I called, maintenance went and I saw how to fix it. It happened about 5 times, so I went and fixed it myself. This can be a super bad experience for anyone. The worst restaurant to eat at was The Cut. They gave my wife a fully burnt salmon. It was actually dumb how the chef gave it to the server when he knew it was fully burnt. They also gave me a raw chorizo. My steak was raw, medium, and well done at the same time, every cut had a different temp. And even when empty they took 1 hour to bring the food. Also, the xpand people can be a little persistent. Just say you don't want to be bothered, but say it in a grumpy way, if they see your friendly they will keep being persistent. They want to sell you a timeshare i believe.

Choose another one… this place has the worst customer service ever. We have stayed at so many places and the people at this hotel had horrible attitude. They make you feel like youre bothering them, we were ignored so many times and had to stand there while they talked to each other. Food is horrible, rooms are dirty, towels are old, not much to do at the resort. No cleanliness! I ordered a drink the first night and it still had the previous person lipstick mark. I was advised to talk to customer service which I really didn’t want to do because so many things had happened already that I just felt like no matter what they did it wasn’t going to make it any better. We went over to customer service told them all the things that had happened to us the first day and they literally told me okay well thank you for letting us know. That was it! They don’t care about customers at this place. Save your vacation from being ruined and book another hotel. Oh and you will be constantly be harassed by guys that work there trying to sell you on other stays and excursions. Just go somewhere else!

I took a solo trip to the DR and stayed at Serenade from May 30-June 3. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place. To start, the staff is very friendly. Yes, they get busy at times, but that is to be expected at check in an check out. But they were always so nice. Second, the resort itself is beautiful. The landscape, the pool area, the rooms, etc. Everything was nice and clean. Third, the beach was beautiful, and so was the water. I read reviews before booking, and people complained about the beach and seaweed, but I did not see any seaweed, which is not something they can control anyway. Also, I read that the gym did not open until 8am, well, they must be listening to our reviews, because the gym opened at 6am, which was perfect for me! I saw a lot things that they were doing to correct issues from reviews that I have read, and I think that is amazing! Truly, cannot recommend this place enough!

I enjoyed the music,the pool area,beach. I feel that reservations are important to make early. However they should have a limit time for the reservations, ex: if its at 7pm and the guest gets there at 7:15pm,the guest on the waiting list,should be advised,or move on to the guest waiting in line to get in. Most of the time the restaurant was empty and they would turn guest away.

Very disappointed. At arrival staff was not informative about the property. No paper maps available i was only pointed to a QR code and for folks not tech savvy it's annoying. We had to walk around aimlessly just to learn for ourselves where the gym, spa, restaurants, towel pick up etc were . I was also upset about dinner reservations for the restaurants. We learned much too late that we could have reserved 3 nights in advance so we missed out because they fill up quickly. Buffet food was good. The fruit and salad bar were amazing. Kids loved the burgers and pizza. Restaurant food was bad and the wait is ridiculous. Many times we stopped at buffet after the restaurant. Majority of the workers give the vibe that they're miserable. No smiles no interaction it's very sad. Not inviting at all. I will not return to this place because the hospitality is lacking. Rooms are huge and super hip and clean. Pools are big and plenty of seating. The beach was disappointing kids did not go in. Lots of seaweed. Nothing the property can do though it's just the location. They try very hard to clear the seaweed. From sunrise to sunset there are people raking seaweed.

I have never been a person to write a review until now: Pros: Property was good size and you were close walking distance to everything. Property was clean except there were cat roaming everywhere. Cons: staff was uninviting, attention to deal was lacking, food was always cold and we found a worm in our food. You spend a lot of time waiting when you are to be enjoying your vacation. You have to stand in line to make dinner reservations and can take up to 20-30 mins to get that completed bc only one staff member working. Dinners take hours when there is barley anyone in the restaurant and your food isn’t even warm.They are super stingy on towels and wash clothes for your room. We had a family of 4 and they would leave us 1 towel and 0 wash clothes, so we always had to ask for more. Absolutely no food service at the pool other then you could get drinks at the swim up bars. But they had plenty of staff roaming around picking up plastic cups or trying to sell you in an excursion. The gym smelled so bad. We walked in and had to walk right back out. I know it’s a gym, but it was so bad. Not an inviting place for vacation. The customer service is not there and I will never recommend this place. Stay somewhere else.

We are truly saddened to know that we did not deliver our usual warm and personalized service.Regarding the food in the pool, this is for hygiene reasons, as you will understand we do not allow eating in the pool because of debris that may fall into the water, which would prevent the maximum enjoyment of our guests in the pool.We are sorry for this impression about the gym, please note that the gym is cleaned several times a day both before opening and during opening hours. The grounds and lobby were beautiful. The pool off the room was lovely. The restaurants were good - the waitstaff were very friendly and accommodating. Many of the other staff were not friendly and we tried to tip everyone - felt like they didn’t like Americans. The room had a window in the shower (not appropriate for families) and it leaked into the room. The towels were in poor condition. No facecloths which was odd. You were only allowed two beers in minibar per day. Room service was very limited and no alcohol was available for delivery. It was challenging when I had a child with me who napped so we couldn’t leave the room at times. The resort allowed guests to claim their pool/beach chairs hours before the pool opened. We saw many seats not in use but “claimed” with towels. It should be first come, first serve. Wine at dinner was by bottle (unless you drank house wine) and was an extra fee. There was no food/drink service by pool. You had to go to buffet or wait at bar for drinks. This hotel is not 5 stars. There was tons of seaweed that the hotel did their best to manage. It was incredibly windy most days. Those factors made the beach unusable most days.
