I always worry about choosing a hotel when I’m staying in a big city. I’m just never sure of how safe the neighborhood will be when walking at night and how easily accessible it will be from public transportation. Let me just tell you that I was very pleased with my decision to stay at The Hamilton. This hotel has been open since 1922. It’s on the National Register of Historic Places. It had so much character! But it was also all very updated and clean. The hotel is located just a few blocks from the White House. There was a metro station just one block away making it very easy to get to anywhere we wanted to go. The beds were very comfortable and we had a great view of McPherson Square park across the street. The hotel has an amazing restaurant! I purchased the additional food and beverage credit through travelocity ($7 day) and we ate a delicious breakfast there every morning. There were lots of small touches and amenities that made the stay comfortable. I would highly recommend it if you decide to take a trip to DC.

The Hamilton is a beautiful hotel in a walkable safe neighborhood. The staff was friendly and attentive. We ate on meal in the restaurant, which was tasty. But it would have been nice if they offered more vegan and vegetarian options.

The beds in our room where very hard, it felt like we were laying on hard floors. The pillows were thin and not comfortable. There was no hot water for the whole 2nd day.

The first 175.98 was credited to your before you checked out on the 2nd and the 175.43 was refund the next day, the later amount should be credited to your account within 5-7 business days. Looked and smelled beautiful. No hot showers both nights, beds were hard as rocks, pillows were awful. Limited dining around area for all meals, they also don't tell you that the only parking is $59/ night.

The best part of the Hamilton was the restaurant alongside, where we had three good meals. Good location for walking, taking the metro.
